Not a pitch, the actual numbers and mechanics: what materials are priced, which countries and currencies are supported, how a deal actually moves from a bid to a payout, and what stands between a listing and a scam.
On this page
ScrapTrade is based in Australia, and Australia is the default market: local material categories, AUD pricing out of the box. The same account works the same way across every other supported country too, not a separate product pretending to be one platform.
24
Across ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, plastics, paper and cardboard, and e-waste.
5
The full breadth of what runs through the ScrapTrade Price Index.
10
Australia, US, UK, India, China, UAE, Singapore, Canada, South Africa, Malaysia.

Convert scrap value across markets instead of doing the maths by hand.
Every listing supports the same choice of trading mechanisms, not a limited set for smaller sellers and a fuller set for bulk dealers. A fixed-price sale suits certainty, a live auction suits genuine competitive tension, and the Wanted Board flips the model for buyers who need a specific material they can't easily find listed already. A dealer running dozens of listings a month and someone selling a single trailer load choose from the exact same three options, because the mechanics are built around the trade itself, not the size of the account doing it.
3
Fixed-price listing, live auction, or the Wanted Board, all available on every eligible listing.
1
Direct negotiation is on by default, not a paid add-on gated behind a tier.
Nothing goes live unchecked. GPS-tagged video confirms a listing shows real material in the place it claims to be, and every listing passes through an actual approval gate, pending, then approved or rejected, before a single buyer can see it. Traders can also carry identity and business verification, so a counterparty is a checked account, not an anonymous handle. None of that guarantees good behaviour on its own, verification confirms identity, not intent, which is why it's paired with the deposit and escrow mechanics below rather than treated as sufficient by itself.
100%
GPS-tagged video required before any listing goes live.
1
Every listing moves through pending, approved, or rejected status, no automatic publish.
Payment never passes directly between a buyer and a seller. It moves in two stages, processed through Stripe, a deposit that confirms the bid is real, then the balance into escrow once shipping terms are actually settled, released only once delivery is confirmed and checked. See the full process for every step in order.
5%
Charged only once a bid is accepted, confirming the commitment is real.
24h
Miss it and the bid auto-cancels, the listing reopens, nothing lost on the seller's side.
2
The deposit confirms the bid, the balance moves into escrow once shipping terms are settled.
1
A person checks the buyer's delivery confirmation before funds actually move to the seller.
Browsing, listing, and messaging are free. There's no minimum quantity to qualify, a homeowner clearing a garage and a dealer moving tonnes a week use the same account, the same three trading mechanisms, and the same verification and escrow standard. See Why Choose ScrapTrade for the case built on top of these facts.
A number is either true or it isn't, which is a different standard than a slogan meeting that same bar. Every figure on this page describes a specific, checkable mechanic: the deposit percentage shown on a real bid, the countries actually selectable in the calculator, the approval statuses a listing actually moves through before it's visible to a buyer. None of it is aspirational. If any of it changes as the platform grows, the figures here get updated to match, not stretched to still sound impressive.
Actual mechanics. Every figure on this page describes something real in how ScrapTrade works, the deposit percentage, the countries supported, the verification steps, not a rounded-up marketing number.
Those numbers change constantly and would go stale the moment this page was published. The homepage shows the live count. This page covers what stays true regardless of the day you're reading it, the mechanics and scope of the platform itself.
5% is the default, but it's set per listing, so check the specific figure shown before you bid rather than assuming every listing matches the default exactly.
No. Those are the materials with live reference pricing in the Index. Material outside that list, precious metals, for instance, can still trade through the general marketplace and Wanted Board, just without a calculator price attached yet.
No. Australia is the home market, AUD is the default currency, but the same account and the same rules work the same way across all 10 supported countries.
Both, in different places. The deposit charge, the 24-hour window, and the escrow hold are automated, they apply the same way every time without a person having to intervene. Releasing the final payment is the one deliberate exception: a person checks the buyer's confirmation before funds actually move, since that's the moment a fabricated or rushed confirmation would try to slip through.
It's marked rejected and doesn't go live. The seller can address whatever the issue was and resubmit, but nothing reaches a buyer's search results while it's pending or rejected.
